Today Holly, Jennifer, and I went for a tour of the
Duke Lemur Center. Our tour guide, Alex, was fantastic! We all had a wonderful time and want to go back. The lemurs reminded me of tree cats. I plan to go back for a tour where I can take photographs without the cages. I had not been to the Lemur Center for over 20 years, and it has really changed. Please
support the Lemur Center -- it is amazing! I usually feel sorry for animals in captivity, but these were different; in addition to the research and education this facility enables, without it, species may become extinct. Please let me know if I've got the lemurs labeled correctly. I wasn't sure, particularly about the mongoose lemurs. Thanks!
Coquerel's Sifaka, Propithecus verreauxi coquereli. I was really taken with the hands and feet of the different types of lemurs on the tour today.
