Lyssa Whitson plays the Ashokan Farewell in Diamond Hill Cemetery.
After our wedding gig on Saturday, Lyssa and I went to the slave and Indian cemetery -- Diamond Hill Cemetery -- on the plantation. It was a very moving experience for me. I really wanted to hear fiddle music, and Lyssa played beautifully. If there is an afterlife, and if somehow it is connected with this life, I hope all of those people in the anonymous graves could hear her.
